distINKtive designs Team Information and Stampin Up Product Challenge - October 2008
Hello Ladies, and humble apologies for my lack of communications this month. I've been very busy setting some goals and trying different methods of attaining those goals.
This month I sold over $4,000.00 of SU product - I'd fallen behind my yearly goal total, so thought I'd try a couple of the ideas SU give us for getting some workshop bookings. And guess what - they worked.
The first one was to get on the phone and call some old hostesses. Now those of you who know me well, will know how much I hate using the phone, so this is always a difficult concept for me - but, I tried and found that the customers who had not yet seen the current IB&C or Mini Catalogue were more than willing to host a workshop. So have a look at the current information on the SU demonstrator website about workshop bookings, and even if you initially feel uncomfortable about some of the suggestions, try a suggestion that you feel you can work with and give it a go! I'd love to see you all sell $4K worth next month.
RECRUITING
I have set myself a target of getting 3 or 4 more recruits before April next year (and now that I've publicly stated that I'd better get moving!)
WHY NOVEMBER IS A GREAT TIME TO RECRUIT NEW DEMONSTRATORS
With Christmas just around the corner, it's a great time for new Demonstrators to kick-start a new business (or hobby) and get together with others for Christmas card making and gift wrapping events.
There is a new Summer Mini Catalogue due out in December.
Sale-a-Bration (Stampin' Up's! busiest and most exciting two months) happens in the New Year.......customers, hostesses, demonstrators and new recruits all earn free, limited edition stamp sets!!
Now is great time to fill up your diary with workshops and grow your demonstrator team - offer Christmas Gift Ideas, and create Gift Vouchers for those who don't like to choose for others.
We are in the middle of a quarter, so new demos will have until the end of their first full quarter (March 31st next year) to make sales for the $500 quarterly minimum.
OK so here is Challenge #1 - Try to sign up 1 recruit before Christmas. Just remember how much you enjoy what you are doing, and OFFER friends and acquaintances the OPPORTUNITY to do the same. Don't be shy about this - and don't think because you haven't been doing SU for ages that you don't have enough experience to help a recruit. I am always here to help in that regard.
If a few of us have some prospects, I'm willing to host another combined Opportunity night mid November to give out more information - stamp a little and make them feel welcome. Just let me know if this works for you.
Challenge #2. - Product challenge - Use a Christmas themed stamp set(any one that is current) and ANY COMBINATION OF COLOURS EXCEPT RED AND GREEN to create a Christmas Card.
Send a jpeg file no larger than 100KB to me by November 30th. Have fun creating - I can't wait to see what you come up with.
Here is an example of using some Blender pens with sponging, and also doing some Crayon Resist on Glossy White Card stock. Hope you like them.

Oh gosh I've got to straighten that ribbon on the large card - it's driving me crazy being so crooked.
I can feel an idea for a Christmas Wreath coming up, so I might just have to try this out. Hopefully I'll post the result in this section in a week or so.
See you all then, and follow your dreams!
