"distINKtive designs" team chatter page - December 2008.

Hi girls,
Welcome to the distINKtive designs "Chatter page" for December. I can't believe we are nearly through November, so I thought I'd get an early start with December's news and information. I wrote all this information out yesterday morning but my *@#! computer crashed on me before I had finished and I lost it all. Since then I've tried 2 more times and I think I'm finally here 2 days later. Not to worry,
I've been playing around with banners this morning, and finally learnt how to make a composite banner - as it is coming up to Christmas that is the theme I'll have for December. What do you think?
The "distINKtive designs" team now consists of 10 demonstrators including 2 Supervisors. (congratulations to Melissa and Chantal), 6 Senior Associates and 1 Associate. .
I'm really thrilled with the sales totals for this month. You have far exceeded previous totals as a group and I thought you may be interested to know a few stats.
Team sales for the month are just over $17,300.00.
That's a fantastic effort from just 10 people - well done ladies!
Team Sales for the Year to date (excluding my sales) are $39.359.00!
Some of you may find this information interesting, so I'll post it each month and we can all keep track of how well we're doing.
You have all probably heard about the Sale-A-Bration Promotion that commences on January 1st, 2009. This is a wonderful time to book workshops and make your sales skyrocket. Those of you who have not yet experienced a SAB Promotion will be amazed at how keen customers are to spend that little bit more so that they qualify for a FREE stamp set from the SAB catalogue.
You can expect your SAB catalogue to arrive any day now with your December Impressions, so think about ordering quite a few catalogues and give them to lots of people. All the details will be on the SU web site, but essentially each customer gets a free stamp set with every $100.00 they spend. I've had ladies spend $400.00 just to get all the free sets. Combine this with the continuation of the Summer Mini and you have some excellent resources available.
OUR FIRST TEAM CHALLENGE FOR 2009 A free stamp set of your choice to the value of $60.00 to the demonstrator who has the highest sales total for January and February combined, that is during the Sale-A-Bration promotion. So get those bookings happening ladies and let's see who starts the new year off with a stamping frenzie.
Those of you who would like to make a little more income from SU should seriously consider RECRUITING.
It's never too early to start, as everyone in our team has access to both the SU website and to my website, and between us we can answer all the questions.
I have to admit that I took a while to get started on recruiting and wasn't a very good up-line at first. I don't have an up-line, so I had nobody to ask all those little questions, but now I feel quite competent as a resource for you all.
One of the most successful tools I've used for recruiting is the brochure I made up. What Type of Demonstrator Could You Be?. I pop it into every customer pack at the workshops, and always put it together with 2 or 3 other forms of recruit information into the Hostess pack. This gives the hostesses time to ponder without me hovering, and they usually bring up the possibility with comments like "My husband says I should just buy the Starter Kit!" That's when it is time to give one on one information and discuss what the potential recruit wants to get out of being a demonstrator. Just keep your ears open for little comments that indicate interest as many people are too shy to come straight out and ask to join up. That is a good reason to always offer the opportunity to all workshop guests as part of your wind up in the workshop. Say something like - "Now the biggest bargain of all in our catalogue can be found on the back page" and take it from there. Gives them all something to think about as they go home having had a really good time.
Next April we have convention in Canberra. This is a really valuable experience with lots of ideas, presentations and fun for all, not to mention stamping sessions and is well worth the cost. We are lucky to have it here as we can save on travel and accommodation costs. Kaz and Kylie - I always have spare rooms if you can make the trek down from Townsville. I have attended the two conventions held so far and have always been just a teensy bit envious of other girls having members of their teams with them.
Following that line of thought, I think we really should have a couple of team meetings next year - to provide support for and ideas to each other, to discuss issues that may assist you with developing your Demonstratorship and most importantly to have a bit of fun and stamp.
I've chosen some dates and hope you'll all put them on your 2009 calendars.
TEAM MEETING 1-2009. Friday 6th February. 7.00 pm. TEAM MEETING 2-2009, Friday 8th May.
TEEAM MEETING 3-2009, Friday 7th August.
TEAM MEETING 4-2009, Friday 6th November.
I'm looking at each of you taking a turn to present an idea for a Workshop Wow and we will have a swap theme for each meeting so we can build up our example stash of ideas for customers.
I will do a summary of the evening for Kaz and Kylie (plus all your future recruits!!!) and post any tutorials on this part of the site so you can use them in your workshops if you wish.

LINKS TO YOUR BLOGS/WEB SITES
I would like to help each of you develop your businesses, and one way is to provide more exposure for the work you do. If you have a blog or website address please let me know and I'll put it in my Links Page on this site. When I'm surfing the net I often follow links from other sites and it is amazing what you can find.
If you'd like to post something on my site (which is now being viewed world wide - look at the Feedjit map on the Home Page) under a "Guest artist or Demonstrator" Link, let me know. I am hoping to set up a system where you can do this from your own computer, but I will need to know if you are interested first. Just email me!
